The purpose of this job is to coordinate the outreach projects and partnerships of Hand of Hope in a variety of contexts, across numerous countries in Africa. The role will work closely with and report to the African Outreach Director in managing the projects by providing program oversight, administrative support, budgeting and basic financial management, relationship management, partnership capacity development, and compiling reports which convey the impact of the work through accurate data and compelling written narratives.
The work will largely focus on children’s programs targeting orphaned and vulnerable children, although it will also cross a variety of other initiatives including clean water provision, classroom building, church building, empowerment programs (agriculture, income generating projects, etc.), prison ministry, medical programs (short and long-term), disaster relief, etc.

The majority of work for this role will be conducted at a workstation, behind a computer and phone, managing the programs remotely through in-region partners; however, travel may be required from time to time (independently in Africa), and those who have the ability to do so will be given preference.
JOB DESCRIPTION
- Coordinate outreach projects in Africa, primarily children’s ministry programs.
- Manage relationships with partners, building them up.
- Drive forward the trainings and partnership capacity development of our programs.
- Oversee the spiritual development of our programs, including curriculums.
- Compile, edit and develop effective reports, particularly the quarterly reports.
- Oversee the regional Master Children’s Database.
- Manage the payments, payment tracker and basic financial recon on projects.
- Create budgets and proposals at the start of new project, and once off MOU’s.
- Liaise with Children’s Ministry Coordinator and African Outreach Director to provide information and execute their instructions.
- Travel to projects for assessments and to execute instructions of African Outreach Director.
- Uphold the core values of the ministry (excellence, love, faith, unity, integrity) and carry forward the mission of the organization to Share Christ – Love People.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
- Basic financial management to track expenditure vs budgets of multiple projects.
- Ability to produce and manage budgets.
- Experience and strong capability to produce and edit press-release type communications without grammatical error.
- Experience of working with NGO, Church and Corporate environments.
- Experience of working with American companies / professionals.
- Knowledge of project management methodologies.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Subscription to and living of Christian values to maintain and represent the ethos of a Christian Ministry.
- Highly self-motivated and positive attitude.
- Experience and excellent proficiency in Microsoft Office Products: Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint.
- Experience and proficiency in google docs / drive, mail chimp.
- Ability to manage and direct detailed deliverables on varied projects.
- High level of interpersonal skills to handle sensitive and confidential situations.
- Ability to work well both independently, cross culturally and in a team environment.
- A high level of initiative and proven self-management ability.
- Minimum 2 years administrative / project work experience.
- Higher Certificate, or Bachelor’s degree equivalent preferred.
